Take your digital projects to the next level

In every digital project there has to be a clients representative for bridging between the business and the project team. Sholdering this role however is extremely challenging and requires vision, awareness, negotiating skills and the ability to focus internal and external resouces to optimize the outcome of each process. Even though running high risk ventures like a digital project is very demanding, the clients representative role is often taken for granted and only gets attention when something goes wrong. A small mistake made by the client in the beginning of a design and development process can easily and secretly snowball and re-appear as disaster of epic probortions.

Maybe you noticed that the art of acting a clients representative is largely unchartered territory. The lack of compelling methology guiding the work is a mystery for us in Whiteport. There are plenty of methods for designers and developers but clients largely live in a method vacum. In the Whiteport development methodology we have made sure to level the playing field and make sure every perspective is equally represented! In this course we will focus on the Whiteport method from a clients perspective. Our goal is to coach you into becomming a black belt procurer of any interactive product and be the source of success in the process all the way to release. In an interactive digital project strategists, designers and techies need to work together in harmony to create a well sounding symphony. The goal off course is to end up with well functioning sites, apps & e-commerce applications that users would love and that brings value back to the organization. The clients representative is really the concert conductor here, instrumental in creating a productive environment and set up clear channels of communication and effective excecution. Not only within each competence in the team but also in the interface between the departments involved as well as general management in the own organization. As the client you have a substantial authority and the power to affect how the project is set up. In this course we will explore how we can use this powers in the most effective way through how you outline the initial requirements. As the project kicks off the creative and development team asumes control over the processes and you as the client are risking to loose the upper hand. As it turns out you, as the client, get more and more dependent on the team and its expert to the further the project continues. In order to help you stay in control of the processes Whiteport method contains powerful tools for keeping the lines of communication open and create an effective hour by hour feedback loop for you to monitor progress and the use of resouces. By mastering the Whiteport method you will have access to a well tested framework for evaluateing each delivery early in the project and spotting any issues before they become unmanageble. All with the only use of widely spread and free software!

Methods & templates

The first order of business in the course is to disect a digital project and give you a profound understanding in to what drives each competence in their work. It is essential for you, as a client, to know how to play your cards and create an enthusiastic and productive environment. We will then get our hands dirty with the Whiteport model and its tools and templates. We will go through how to enable the strategic desicion making process by exploring the most effective ways to fill the project goals. You will learn how to make use of the expertice in the creative and tech team in building strong concepts and solutions. You will also get the inside scoop in to the Whiteports unique framework for project planning and cost control. Your work will make the grounds for well informed desicions by your management team.
